Private Lessons
A primary focus at GTC is helping clients with their puppies/dogs through the day care program or private lessons. Below are some classes/skills that are offered through private lessons. We can also customize the lessons to your dog's specific needs.
Kinderpuppy
|
| Puppies 10 weeks to 6 months
Kinderpuppy class has three goals:
1. Management: Using a variety of methods, you will learn to manage your puppy’s behavior [housetraining, chewing, mouthing/biting and jumping on people]
2. Relationship Building: You will learn to use reward-based training to teach your puppy appropriate behavior and to enjoy the training process
3. Behavior training: Puppies will learn to walk on a loose leash, sit, down, stay and come when called
Puppies will learn social skills and develop confidence through off-leash play sessions with other puppies and a variety of people. |
Manners Class
|
Dogs over the age of six months
Adolescent dogs are the equivalent of teenagers; i.e., characterized by increased independence, ignoring commands, and, in many instances, destructive behavior. In the Manner class you will learn how to cope with your dog during this phase. Dogs will learn to sit politely to greet people, sit, down, stay, and come with increasing levels of distraction, duration and distance. |
Agility Class
|
You will learn to safely train your dog over jumps, through tunnels (open and closed), climbing obstacles (plank walk, A-frame, teeter-toter), weave poles, and pause tables. |
